This is by far the best seafood restaurant in Murrells Inlet. We had a table of 17 people (which can be a lot to handle) and I couldn't have asked for better service. Along with that the atmosphere was superb. When we arrived they already had our waters poured and the table was set. I can't say enough great things about the food. I ordered the seafood risotto and literally cleared my plate in less than ten minutes. I'm still thinking about it!!! All in all everything was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend BLISS if you're looking for great food and a friendly staff Thanks so much CHRIS & ANGEL for being so accommodating. See ya next year!

Kept saying we would be seated in 5 minutes, three separate times on a slower Thursday night. Then stated "we got a big order so wait another 5 minutes." Finally seated, sat 12 minutes and still no drink orders. Waiter was rude and did not even introduce himself or the specials/ menu. Handed out menus and left. 12 people with drinks... Easily $1000 bill and we are 20% tippers. Cost the business, himself, and his staff about $200 in tips. Sad. Didn't even seem like we were welcome. Family and friends golf outing for 24 years straight and will never use the establishment again.

Bliss is one of our favorite restaurants when we come to Mrytle Beach. It is consistently good and last night was no exception. Mike started with their Panko Crusted Scallops with risotto. They were large scallops and I had a small taste. Very good. Salads were next - a wedge salad for Mike and a small Ceasar salad for me. You could easily share the wedge salad. My Ceasar was good because it had white anchovies on it. Our entrees were Baby Back Ribs and I had an appetizer of Beef Egg Rolls. The ribs came with grilled shrimp, risotto and collard greens. It was delicious but we can't say anything about the collard greens. Neither one of us like them. My Egg Rolls came with a sriracha sauce for dipping. I really liked those. We never waited long for our food and Ashly behind the bar took good care if us. Of course we would come back here again.

Well we didn't stay but about 5 minutes. We had reservations at supposedly a quiet little corner area table. They put us in the first booth as you enter the restaurant. We had a Yelp 10% off coupon, which had to be shown to 3 people to get approval. Then they only wanted to honor 1 coupon for both of us that were Yelpers. We went to order drinks and discovered they don't have a Sunday liquor license. So we went back to Hot Fish Club which is consistently good. And has s Sunday Liquor license. Sorry Bliss..... We won't be coming back.

It's very telling when nearly every restaurant in Murrells Inlet is either packed or has a significant wait; while Bliss was nearly empty. The She Crab soup was runny with little to no crab. I ordered the special surf and turf and was super disappointed. We ended up paying $100 for two iced teas, two cups of soup, and two specials. This is with the 10% discount we were to receive because we were staying in the hotel. Over all, I wasn't impressed in the least.

Came here for a special occasion and it was well worth it. A little way away from Myrtle Beach proper, but we were happy we made the drive. We started with the steamed oyster appetizer. Wow. Very unique and flavorful. Oddly, the oyster didn't seem to be the star of the dish, but all the flavors came together beautifully. You want to get a little bit of everything in each bite. I had the Seafood Risotto, and it was amazing. Perfectly flavored and everything came together wonderfully. Couldn't recommend it more highly. CC had the Crab Crusted Grouper, which was good, but it couldn't hold a candle to the Risotto dish.

An unexpected surprise. From the outside and the branding I was expecting one step up from a sports bar. It's a nice place, esp for the casual atmosphere of the Inlet. It does feel like something you'd find in the mountains or a lodge versus the beach - but the food was great. Seared ahi was excellent. Shrimp and grits good but spicy. Short ribs excellent. Great service. You won't get the view some other places on the inlet have, but the tradeoff on non mass-produced food makes up for it. Very well done.

We had a great last night at the beach here! The sushi appetizers were great and both of our seafood entrees were wonderful. The menu was extensive, so there are several other items we can't wait to try. My only complaint, as a pescetarian, is that the risotto accompanying my main dish was mixed with meat chunks and that was not listed in the menu. It made for great flavor and I tried to pick around the chunks. The server offered to substitute it out for something else and apologized.

Celebrated a life changing event at this place and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. This placed seems to have an endless list of dinner specials which proves how fresh their food actually is. Steak was a very high quality and cooked perfectly. Seasonings complemented the natural food flavors. Great place to try if you are looking for a change of pace from the generic touristy restaurants.

Working in Georgetown and found Bliss on the way home - Got the Angus burger and it was amazing - Janie was great checking in to make sure everything was good with lunch - will definitely make this my lunch stop whenever I'm in the area!

Wife and I had biked here so we were sweaty and casual. Bike trail runs strait into it. The staff was extremely inviting despite our attire. We started with the tuna tacos and they were delicious. Great ice tea! Shecrab soup was amazing and had big chunks of crab (as shown). I ordered the Italian hoagie, tons of meat and warm bread, served with homemade chips. Absolute pleasure to stop here and well be visiting on our next bike ride on Pawleys Island.

So sad that this once very good restaurant has fallen to this very poor level. Service was fair, my wife's dinner had to be sent back, requested steamed vegetables and they, like the filet were covered with grease and tasteless liquids. My steak was requested rare, it came our well done. "Warm" bread pudding was ice cold...must have come from the freezer. We gave up, paid the bill, and crossed this place off with a big magic marker. We are locals, and stopped going there last year, tried it again tonight, what a mistake!!! Run away fast!

Bliss is a local's favorite. Off the main road that runs through Murrells Inlet but away from all the crowds. You do not come to Bliss for the views of the water; you can find that down the road. You come to Bliss for the food. I lived in Myrtle Beach/Murrells Inlet for 9 years and Bliss is a restaurant I visit every time I come home. What is common with the area as far as restaurants go is that if it has a nice view they raise the prices and make their food subpar because they know the tourists will come. With that said the prices here are not cheap but the food is worth every penny. I have only ever sat at the bar and for good reason. Bliss has a bar menu that serves small plates at half the price as their regular menu but the food is still to die for with one dish that stands out from the rest. THE BRAISED SHORT RIBS (severed with cheddar grits, baby vegetables and a burgundy sauce $11). If I picked a meal that is the best meal I have had in Murrells Inlet it would be this. (2nd is the fried shrimp at the Inlet Crab House). Paired with a grilled romaine salad - $7 it just doesn't get any better. Ask for some complementary bread if not given to you. You get a mixture of wheat, white, and brown with two spreads- one is a raspberry and the other a garlic and both are yummy. The bar area is on the small side but the tables are not to close. The Bar itself seats about 15-20 with about 4 tables lining the room. Dark wood, exposed beams and hardwood floors make the restaurant beautiful. They have happy hour drink special Mon-Fri from 5-7 (Don't hold me to the times) and the last time I checked they offer 1/2 price bottles of wine on Tuesdays. Enjoy dinner at Bliss and then drive 1/2 mile to the Marshwalk for an after dinner drink. Avoid 1-2 hour wait times and crappy food.

Happened upon this gem when all the restaurants down the road had extremely long waits. Lucky for us-the food & service were wonderful! Don't think twice about driving past the other joints into Murrell's Imlet! Drive a little further down the road & you won't be disappointed. She crab soup, scallops, braised short ribs, shrimp linguini. & the baby back ribs were great!

Fantastic! The yelp ratings were on target for this restaurant! The She Crab Soup was amazing. Huge shrimp with the Grits - really tasty. Grouper w crab was also delicious. Pasta Special with Seafood was great. Service was exceptional. Our waitress, Renae was super, friendly and very efficient.

Bliss was an unexpected delight. She crab soup is a personal favorite, and theirs did not disappoint. It was delicious and sophisticated. My companion had the seared sea scallops over parmesan risotto and the preparation, freshness and quality were superb -- enormous scallops, cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully over a perfect, creamy and flavorful risotto. I had the crab encrusted grouper over shitake mushrooms. Amazing! To finish a perfect meal, we had the creme brulee, which came with a standard vanilla bean creme brulee, a strawberry sorbet, and a milk chocolate creme brulee, that was one of the best desserts we have tasted. To top it all off, the service at Bliss was superb. Do not miss Bliss for a sublime dining experience.

Just an update - Make a reservations for dinner! My family and I visited Bliss three times during our stay in Garden City. During the week we walked right in and were seated immediately (we arrived after 7:00pm.) On Friday we arrived at our usual time only to learn there was a 1.5 hour wait. Bliss is a small restaurant with fantastic food, so it shouldn't have been a shocker that they'd be busy on a Friday night. Our bad. FWIW - we made a reservation for the next available slot and came back later. Yes, Bliss is worth the wait!

Just had dinner here and it was great. Jesse was a great server. Very friendly and attentive. Braised short ribs was delicious and so were the cheese grits it was served on top of. Tried the fried green tomato app and it was really good too. Don't let the sign fool ya, "at the sports lodge", because it's a great place to have dinner. Also looked at the brunch menu and hope to try that soon.

The food here was amazing. It looks a little unsuspecting from the outside, but the inside is beautiful. They had some very creative specials and the regular menu has an excellent variety. The food was very fresh and well presented, and the signature drink I had was to die for. Service was excellent. Not much else to say. Eat here, you won't regret it.

AMAZING! Great dining experience. Phenomenal food and service. Our server, Renee, was hospitable and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make our entire meal perfect. Began with warm bread served with your choice of a delicious raspberry or garlic worcestershire butter. The featured soup (lobster bisque), pecan salad, berry salad, and fried green tomato salad were all fantastic. I believe another review stated the !filet mignon! was better than Ruth's Chris and we would agree. It was perfectly paired with gratin potatoes. The feature was lobster, scallops, and shrimp served over angel hair pasta with a light Parmesan sauce. Yum! Other dishes included crab cakes and award winning crusted grouper. Unlike other restaurants down here, the dishes are worth the price. Thank you so much Bliss!! Lived up to your name!

So good! Found this place by accident missing a turn and was glad we stopped. The food was amazing! My husband had the beef medallions and I had the 8 oz fillet. They both were so flavorful we had a great time and even shared desert. We had a table by the bar. The reason I did not give 5 stars was because it was very dark and lacked a coastal feel inside. I felt like we were back in Maine. The staff was friendly and efficient and my husband enjoyed the Stone IPA. Will be back again.

Impressed! My husband and I stopped in on a whim while down in Murrels Inlet. Having been underwhelmed with the fine dining options on the grand strand, we decided to give it a shot. Started with she crab soup and salad and shared the spare rib entree. It was all very tasty and flavorful. The ambiance is very rustic. Our server was very knowledgable and pleasant. We will return!!

I'm from out of town and I consider myself to be somewhat of a food snob. I was driving through and was looking for a nice place to get some fish. At first glance this place didnt look very nice. I really started to get worried when the place almost empty on a sat night. Either way I was hungry and decided to go for it. Got the crab crusted grouper. Let me just say all my worries went out the door after my first bite! First time I cleaned my plate in a long time.

7/10/14 My wife and I got there at 4:45P which is very early for us. Randell was our server who is "OUTSTANDING"! He gave us the (Before 6 PM Bliss) menu. The flounder was excellent. Loved the tenderness and the asparagus tempura exploded with flavor. The she crab soup is a must!

Fabulous!! I had read some good reviews of this restaurant and wanted to try it, and we were not disappointed. The dining room is small, which I loved first off. Not like some of the Myrtle Beach places which are looking to cram as many people in them as possible. But the food and service really made it special for us. Michael served us and was wonderful, not only at describing the food but at pointing us to some interesting out-of-the-way sights to see while here. The she-crab soup is as good as other reviewers said it would be - delicately but perfectly seasoned, with totally tender pieces of crab in it. I had planned to order something other than the evening's special, but after Michael described the hogfish - it's only available at certain times of the year, is a fish that divers need to catch and is so buttery and good that chefs fight over the small supply - I had to order that. He said it was so fresh that it had probably been caught that morning - that may or may not have been true, but he did such a good job of describing it and the fish tasted SO good that I was absolutely persuaded to believe that! All of the food, he said, is locally grown and fresh, except (I think he said) the scallops, which are flown packed in ice from Prince Edward Island. The only frozen food, he said, laughing, is the ice cream. Because it's smallish, you should probably try to make a reservation. We didn't have one, but Michael seated us in the bar area and that was fine and fairly quiet. All in all, I could see why this restaurant was named Bliss. Skip the neon-lit arenas down the street and come here if you want a memorable dinner. We'll be back, Michael! Thank you!

Absolutely delicious! Probably the best seafood we have ever had, anywhere. I had the Pan-Seared Scallops; every bite was a taste of heaven, obviously fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection as well. And served piping hot! My wife has several severe allergies (beef, including dairy, cheese, milk, etc. plus shellfish) and they were extremely meticulous in preparing a delicious snapper for her that was also safe for her to eat. The staff (including the hostess/co-owner/wife-of-the-chef) was very friendly and welcoming, and anxious to please. The experience was pure Bliss! This was our third visit over a 3-4 year period, and every meal has been equally delicious. This is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area, but everything is cooked from scratch and morning-fresh, so it is well worth the price. We will be looking forward to coming back here every time we return to Myrtle Beach. BTW, be sure to enjoy the bread and delicious flavored butters served with them, they are fantastic (as was the salad).

I visited Bliss on a recommendation from family, and because they had a restaurant.com certificate. We were very pleased with dinner! The server was very nice and brought over a few wine tastes because we could not make up our mind about what we were in the mood for. We went with the Ruffino Pinot Grigio which was light, not too dry and not too sweet. The food was absolutely fantastic! The rolls in the beginning of the meal were good, but the tomato goat cheese spread was delicious and the honey butter was amazing. Appetizers: She Crab soup - I had been waiting to try this the whole trip and I was not disappointed. There was a lot of crab and the spices were delicious. Seared sea scallops - scallops were cooked perfectly and the vinaigrette was great. The salad that came with it had watermelon and we loved that as well. Entrees: Shrimp and grits - another SC staple that I was waiting to try. The shrimp was so fresh and the grits were unbelievable! I think they make them with heavy cream and they tasted nothing like breakfast grits. The andouille sausage gravy made the dish. Seafood risotto - This isn't on the Web site's menu, but it was very good. It had scallops, shrimp, lobster and crabmeat (I believe). All the seafood was so fresh and the risotto was cooked perfectly, but the shrimp and grits was the star of the meal. I can't wait to go back the next time I visit SC.

We heard mixed reviews, so popped in over the holidays without a reservation. They were completely full at 7:30, so we opted to eat at the bar. The food overall was very good. Service, however, was spotty. They need the bartender to just tend bar and wait on those seated at the bar (maybe 8 seats). She has to also to get drinks for the entire bar area (an additonal 4 to 5 tables). This is just too much when the place is busy. We ordered wine based on suggestion of bartender and it was excellent. Wine list is small and little on the high side, but oeverall not bad. Husband ordered wedge salad and seafood risotto (excellent). The appetizer of wedge salad never appeared. After realizing her mistake was offered free dessert. I ordered an appetizer of stuffed pumpkin with risotto and she crab soup to be served as a meal. Soup was average, but not bad. Could have been a little thicker and more crab. The stuffed pumpkin was unusual and very good. We ordered our free dessert, but it was not taken off our bill. (I was very good - berry bread pudding). At that point the bartender was so busy, had already gave us our check, that we were not going to quibble over $6. I would give this place another chance when not so busy. Food is good but they still have kinks to work out.

We visited Bliss with a bunch of friends who are over 20 years older than us, so we ate early. The dining room at 5:30 was empty of people but, as someone else mentioned, was full of attitude. Having been warned by my fellow Yelper I was prepared and did not let this bother me. Wine was TERRIBLY over priced! They were asking $100 for a bottle I saw at Whole Foods for $20 which I didn't buy because of poor reviews. We settled for a glass of Mondavi cab which is a cheap never fail selection. Now, the reason we go to a restaurant - to eat! The food was delicious! I had a strange combination of the most perfect shrimp and osso bucco that I would drive there to have again. My wife had the filet and, being married, I got half of that too! Well cooked, perfectly presented, and with fantastic accompaniments. So listen, be warned about attitude (uncalled for) and high wine prices, and go get some great grub.

Mom with 3 teenagers decided to try. She-crab soup was tastety. The lobster claw app with grilled peaches made my sons face light up after his first bite. The presentation is spot on and food expertly prepared. Only complaint was med on the filet came out rare, and even after sending it back, it was very flavorful but still bloody. The buffalo meatloaf, tuna special of the night and seafood risotto were delish. We tried the evenings creme brulee, perfect ending, and choc bread pudding w/vanilla sauce a bit dissappointing. (My kids said mine is better). I didn't drink as I was the driver so I felt prices were fair for our food. Its a lovely place but we did have to wait for service as the table next to us was on their 3rd bottle and were being more demanding of our shared waiter. We will definitely go back!

Really a disappointment! I've been to Bliss three times now. Once for lunch, once for dinner and I went to their "Special" Easter Brunch. When we did lunch we were blown away, everything was great and we knew we'd be back. We came back for dinner a month later and it is was a tragedy! The food was so heavily salted even the manager admitted it was inedible. I asked if their chef smoked and was not able to tasted the food they were serving and she replied that the chef was not working and that his stand in was not doing a great job. We apprehensively went back for our reservation to the Easter Brunch and I really wish we had not. When we got there the buffet line had blown the breakers and the place was dark. They got the power back on and served the brunch. For a $35 a head brunch it was badly lacking, the ham was dry and the sides were over salted again and the deserts were just meh. Add this to the staff treating you like you should be glad they let you in and I'm wondering why I'm giving them 2-stars and not 1. Inconsistent and too expensive to make it worth the gamble.

Just dessert tonight but still very very good. Wished they had fessed up on the mistakes but did give us one small pour glass of wine for free. We go there knowing full well you get what you pay for so when they have a bad night I wished they had just let us know. Of course we will come back but not sure I would let that slide again. Pricey and worth it but expect the best here because they know how and prices are set at that level.

Highly recommend! Food was fresh and local. The service was friendly and helpful. The She Crab soup was wonderful. Went to dinner there more than one time while on vacation and had their oysters two different ways and was impressed both times. Had the ribeye steak and it was delicious. I definitely recommend Bliss to anyone and look forward to going back myself next time I'm in the area.

Operating for about 3 years now, this neighborhood gem should be getting more praise and recognition. Not your "tourist trap" restaurant which MI has their full share of, they provide exemplary service and food. Wine list is updated regularly with some interesting additions. Prices are pretty fare for this quality of food and service. Leo was our server and very accommodating. We started with a very hearty She Crab Soup for $8 a bowl (since my wife and I shared), it was plated out as two cups but we were only charged the price of a bow, saving us $2 on that order. Sharon opted for the Fried Pork Chop special that was served over a healthy portion of risotto and had two large grilled shrimp atop. It was enough food for 2. I had the Crab Crusted Grouper served with a sauce rich in mushrooms and side of home style potato wedges. No room for dessert, we will have to come back again. Saleeby Scale: Service 9.5/10, Food: 9/10. Overall for 2 w/out drinks came to $60, not too bad for MI.

We went there on 10/21/12 there were 6 of us, the food was good for the most part, some rec'd cold/warm food but the service sucks. You have to wait for drinks and one person in the group order a bread pudding dessert they had on the special and it took 30 minutes to get. We told them forget it but they insisted we wait for it. They did take it off the bill. We all had mixed reviews on the experience. Some liked it others didn't so we figured we give it a try again. We went back for the thanksgiving day buffet, HORRIBLE food and service. We arrived for the 3pm seating. They were still setting up and cleaning from the last sitting. It was 65 degrees out and they had a fire going in the fireplace inside and out. It was so hot inside the tiny restaurant. Everyone was just milling around waiting to be seated. We asked if we could wait at the bar, but we were told to wait there. Our table was ready, we sat down and after sitting for 5 mins asked should we go to the bar for drinks..no we will serve you. The older lady kept telling us to just smile, after all it is Thanksgiving and some one will bring us water soon. Sweating and dreading my choice of restaurant I just wanted to leave. After 20 minutes the girl finally gave us some lovely lukewarm water. No ice. I watched her pour the water and as it hit the glasses, the "sea monkeys" or whatever it was in the jug swirled around the glass. At that point, I knew it was going down hill steadily. I suggested we just leave and go to all the other places down the road which are great (drunken jacks, Bovine, Divines, Dockside etc). But still we stayed and tried to be troopers. We waited, confused since some people had drinks they got at the bar and others, like us, sat waiting since that was what we were told to do. Over and over. 30 minutes. We finally stopped THE young waitress to ask, if we should just go to the bar, she said no, I am doing everything, taking the orders and making the drinks. Ok, so can you then take our order? So she took our drink order. We got the drinks and decided to sip our drinks and wait for the food "escort" I asked THE older blonde woman if we should just go up and go to the buffet, "no, someone will ESCORT you" we watched people lining up to the buffet. Some returning with their food, so I guess, we don't get escorted? We waited then stopped THE waiter, and again asked do we just go up, he looked at us and said yeah just go up and get served there. OK. We joined the long line, like a really bad HS cafeteria. The line stayed 20 people deep. We stood on the line with all the other long faced people. And watched others adding on to the line. !5 minutes of standing. We have arrived at our "great" buffet meal. The ONE buffet station had ONE staff member serving and cutting the turkey. He did not know how to carve the turkey or the prime rib. It was so slow. They had some salad, 7 sides (mashed potatoes, some strange green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, stuffing, stuffing with oysters, overcooked salmon and collard greens) Which you served yourself. I asked the guy if the collard greens were like spinach, he said no spinach is better this is made with bacon fat and onions. Didn't sound to convincing about the dish. At the same time all the food was out so were the desserts, two cakes and 7 pies . The sides were all cold, the turkey under cooked and we didn't bother with the desserts. Once we sat down, tasted the food we asked for the check and left. We went down to Bovines and ordered food there. Now, the locals gave other suggestions to where to go when we said we were going to Bliss, but we ignored the subtle warning. All in all, the food was cold and undercooked. The three waitstaff could not handle the large one shot seating. They should of scheduled the seating every 15 mins so people aren't waiting and they could handle the crowd. There are just so many great restaurants to experience down there. Don't waste your time on this one.
